We’re hearing reports of what sounds like a police raid on flats in Silcombe Lane, Freshwater a short while ago.

The eye witness told us that they saw “Police in baseball caps with big hammers,” leaving the building.
We’ve contacted the police and are awaiting their response. We’ll update here, when we hear back.
Update 13:50: Police can confirm officers from the Isle of Wight Priority Crime Unit (PCU) executed a drugs warrant at a property in Silcombe Lane, Freshwater on Monday, December 7, 2009.
Such operations are part of the police’s ongoing work with partner agencies to reduce the impact of illegal drugs on communities.
Officers will act on information to identify potential suspects responsible for supplies and sales, plus people affected by substance misuse to ensure they are able to access effective treatment.
