Prime Minister agrees Isle of Wight ferry services have ‘not been good enough’

In Prime Minister’s Questions (PMQs) today (Wednesday), Keir Starmer, said told members that ferry services for Isle of Wight constituents “have simply not been good enough”.

He was responding to a question by Conservative Isle of Wight East MP, Joe Robertson, who asked whether the PM agreed that the Isle of Wight anomaly of unregulated or subsidised ferries “must come to an end”, in order to protect passengers from “excessive ferry prices and bad services”.

Mr Starmer went on to say that the Maritime Minister has met with the ferry and hovercraft operators, the leader of the council, Phil Jordan, as well as other stakeholders, adding that there would be further meetings taking place.
