At around 10.30am this morning, the (very fancy looking) royal chopper made its way through the fog and descended on the playing fields at Ventnor Middle School.
Despite the foggy, wet and windy weather, onlookers started gathering on the bank opposite the school awaiting the arrival of His Royal Highness, Prince Charles and his wife Camilla.
Amongst those assembled to greet the prince were High Sheriff of the Isle of Wight, Gay Edwards and Island MP, Andrew Turner.
There was rapturous applause from the pupils of Ventnor Middle School and after the royal couple had finished their brief chat with the pupils, they were whisked away through Lowtherville down to the Bontanic Gardens.
Following that, they’ll be heading to Newport Minster and then onto Ryde.
We have a gallery of photos and several videos to follow shortly.
