If you’re visiting London over the coming week, check out the free Pterosaurs: Dragons of the Air exhibition outside the Royal Festival Hall at the South Bank Centre, which is a collaboration between the University of Portsmouth, and Griffon Hoverwork, Isle of Wight.
Hoverwork engineer Bob Rushton designed the internal “skeletons” for the impressive life-size pterosaurs, some of which are suspended above the street, and stress-tested them to ensure they could withstand high winds.
It’s good to see an island business involved in such an eye-catching project.
The pterosaurs will be on view until Sunday 4 July, but if you can’t get up to London, here are a few photos we snapped to give you an idea of the scale of the project.
