Pterosaurs Over London Courtesy of Island Company, Hoverwork

If you’re visiting London over the coming week, check out the free Pterosaurs: Dragons of the Air exhibition outside the Royal Festival Hall at the South Bank Centre, which is a collaboration between the University of Portsmouth, and Griffon Hoverwork, Isle of Wight.

Pterosaurs Over London Courtesy of Island Company, HoverworkHoverwork engineer Bob Rushton designed the internal “skeletons” for the impressive life-size pterosaurs, some of which are suspended above the street, and stress-tested them to ensure they could withstand high winds.

It’s good to see an island business involved in such an eye-catching project.

The pterosaurs will be on view until Sunday 4 July, but if you can’t get up to London, here are a few photos we snapped to give you an idea of the scale of the project.
