The founder and front man of the Friday night Isle of Wight Festival headliners, Jarvis Cocker of Pulp, was snapped earlier today at Wightlink’s ferry terminal.
Donning a natty corduroy bucket hat and scarf, the musician and radio presenter, popped across the Solent a whole day before he’s due to appear on stage.
A surefire highlight
We hope he’s getting a chance to check out the Island (come over to Ventnor Jarvis) before his performance with the band at Seaclose Park on Friday night (on stage at 10:20pm).
Alongside the set from Plastic Mermaids, who’ll be playing the Big Top earlier in the evening, Pulp’s performance is bound to be the highlight of the night – if not the festival.
All the stars
Wightlink tweeted the shot earlier today saying,
Hey there, Jarvis Cocker! 👋
It’s that time of year where we spot a sea of celebrities descending on the Island. The Pulp frontman will be performing at @IsleOfWightFest tomorrow evening! 🎸

Former tramway now in use
They also tweeted photos of the festival-goers making use of the new pedestrian walkway on Ryde Pier – where once there stood a tramway.
Cut some shapes
If you can’t wait until Friday night to see Pulp in action, here are a few treats for you. All still stand up some 29 years later.
