Ryde Academy ended the academic year with Rewards Assemblies on the last day of term.

Students earn merits throughout the year and the more they receive the more chances they get in the draw for the end of term prize, which this year was an iPad Mini.

It was the Student Council who decided that it would be more meaningful to have one large reward instead of lots of smaller ones. Students were also rewarded for 100% attendance and ‘Most Improved Attendance’.

‘Principal’s Award’
This year there was a ‘Principal’s Award’ which was awarded for service and commitment to the Academy.

Danielle Belhomme, Year 7, was this year’s winner and she received a family camping ticket to Bestival. We would like to thank Rob da Bank for donating the prize.

Mrs Watt, Interim Head of School, said

“Ryde Academy is a wonderful school and it has been my pleasure to reward some of the amazing talent in the Academy.”

‘Governors’ Award’
Ryde Academy Governors were also in attendance to present the ‘Governors’ Award’ which is awarded for outstanding achievement and effort and contribution to the Academy.

The Chair of Governors, Lesley Holmes said,

“It is always a highlight of the last day of term to be able to recognise those students who have shown particular strengths over the year, and to acknowledge the achievement of all our students who are a real credit to the Academy.”
