Pupils celebrate the Queen’s 70 years on the throne during Platinum Jubilee Celebration Day

On Friday, the last day of term, the whole school held a Platinum Jubilee Celebration Day.

Each year group came dressed in the attire of one of the decades of Queen Elizabeth’s reign, from the 1950s to the current day

Celebration picnic lunch
The children all made their own crowns to wear and flags to wave for our celebration picnic lunch, held outside.

The tables were dressed in red, white and blue with Union Flag tablecloths and napkins. There was a stand up rendition of the National Anthem before they all sat down to eat.

Ten facts about their chosen decade
Later on, each year group recited ten facts about their chosen decade to the rest of the school, and then they each performed a song from that era.

The day finished with an amazing cake sale and a visit from the Plaza Ices ice cream van.
