Dandelions seem to be going crazy at the moment (our backs are testament to that), no sooner do we dig them out and another five appear, so we were pleased to see an article on The Ranger’s Blog last weekend about how to put the blighters to good use.
Ruth D’Alessandro, The Wildlife Gardener, has a blog post titled Costa Coffee? Free, actually.
Experimenting with the roots of some mandrake-like dandelions, Ruth set about scrubbing, baking and grinding to produce some non-caffeinated coffee.
Described by her coffee loving husband as “Drinkable”, we reckon it’s got to be worth a try.
Pop over to her blog post and follow her instructions.
If you have a go, let us know how you get on.
