Step into Spring with Quay Arts star line up at the Comedy Club on Friday 28th March. Come and meet US Rock and Roll comic and Human Jukebox Rick Right, BBC New Talent finalist Jimmy McGhie, and stand up comic, scriptwriter and actor Steve Mould from London.
Rick Right
Rick Right is a major presence on the US comedy scene, and stands in a class of his own.
In his unique parody of the Pop Music biz, which continues to manufacture its stars based on how good they look in video, no artist who has ever reached the charts is safe from Rick’s barbs.
If his sardonic wit wasn’t enough, Rick knows the music so well that on a mere suggestion he can sing and play any song that has been a major hit over the last forty years, even if he has never performed it before. Dubbed the Human Jukebox, Rick can respond to any request from the audience and has more than 10,000 songs in his repertoire! While he calls himself The Rock and Roll Comic, Rick is flexible in his musical repertoire and is just as well versed in Country, R & B, Disco, Rap, Jazz and even Classical.
Having entertained audiences as far afield as Korea, Japan, Australia and England, the rest of the world is beginning to discover one of American comedy’s best-kept secrets. Rick Right is rockin’ the world, and he’s ready to rock your world as well!
Jimmy McGhie
Jimmy is one of the fastest rising young comics on the comedy circuit today.
After only ten gigs, he reached the final of the prestigious So You Think You’re Funny Final at the Edinburgh Festival and the semi finals of the BBC New Talent competition and the final of the Amused Moose Star Search 2005.
This has led to weekend bookings at the Comedy Store and Jongleurs clubs in London and regular bookings all over the country.
Jimmy studied Drama at Kent University and his meteoric rise in the world of stand up looks like it is to be matched in the world of acting, with some exciting TV acting roles in the pipeline.
Steve Mould
Steve is a stand-up comic, scriptwriter and actor who performs all over London. Steve rarely gets to do jokes about maths. But when the crowd is right he can’t help himself.
Steve is part of the comedy double act Mould & Arrowsmith and is currently working on a new sketch show with Gemma Arrowsmith. In his comic actor role he can be seen in the Domino’s Pizza sponsorship of The Simpsons on Sky 1 and is soon to be appearing as a Tic Tac on Channel 4.
Steve is also part of The Canal Cafes Theatre’s resident impro group, The Institute, and creates content for John Lloyd’s Comedybox.tv.
