What will you be doing on World Book Night?

Libraries across the Island and across the nation will be holding events to celebrate World Book Night tonight (Wednesday).

OnTheWight’s listings site has four events taking place to celebrate World Book Night.

‘Books, Booze and Baking’
Typically Ventnor, if you head to Ventnor library on the High Street you can take part in ‘Books, Booze and Baking’.

Please take a favourite book to give to a stranger, a passage of a favourite book to read out, plus food and drinks.

Quiz in Freshwater
Freshwater Library are holding a quiz from 7pm.

Teams of up to six people can compete for a prize! Individuals are welcome to make up teams on the night.

Book swap in Sandown
Sandown Library invite you to read an excerpt from your favourite book and be inspired by other people’s readings from 7pm.

Take a book to swap. Tea and coffee will be provided, or bring your own alcohol if you prefer.

Spoken word and poetry
Finally, Cowes Library and the Anchor Inn have teamed up to provide a night of spoken word and poetry from 7pm tonight.

Featuring Cooly Haste, Onelung Witherz, Adam Gatterall, King Stammers (aka TJC Martin), Benny Curtis and Huxley Hunt
