Red Funnel is proud to once again support Team Isle of Wight at the bi-annual NatWest International Island Games, providing cross-Solent travel for 250 Island athletes selected for the prestigious sporting competition.
Top athletes from all over the world will compete in the NatWest International Island Games held every two years, this year in Guernsey. Team Isle of Wight are one of 24 Islands taking part in the games, with athletes competing across a range of 13 sports – from triathlon to table tennis.
Red Funnel’s own Duty Operations Manager, Joe Butcher (pictured), will be competing with the Isle of Wight football team, hoping to strike gold at the games. The team have been training all year-round and are both excited to be representing the Island and delighted with the support they have received from Red Funnel.
Speaking about the games, Joe said,
“I am proud to be representing the Isle of Wight at this year’s Island Games. It is an incredible opportunity to showcase the talent that we have on the Island, and it is wonderful to work for a company that supports participating athletes.
“I’m looking forward to competing in the Football tournament with my teammates, wish us luck!”
