A production by local theatre company, RedTIE was filmed on the Island last week by Flix Films.
The play, Dying To Know, deals with the issue of how a family copes (or doesn’t cope) when a loved one is diagnosed with a terminal illness.
RedTIE theatre’s director, Helen Reading tells us that, “Although there are some very sad moments, the play is really about communication and trust within a family and the need to laugh together occasionally.”
It was commissioned by the Earl Mountbatten Hospice and was previously performed at the National Hospice Conference in London.
The play was written by Helen Reading. She performs in the film alongside Sam Robertson, Helen Clinton-Pacey and Rod Jones.
Why the filming?
The production is being filmed by Flix Films in order to promote end of life discussions and to raise money and promote our local hospice.
RedTIE theatre will also be performing in London again for the National End of Life Care Programme at the Keeping the person at the centre in an ever changing landscape: third national conference for facilitators which is taking place at Holiday Inn Regents Park, London on 29th November 2011
