This coming Saturday (22nd August 2026) sees the Repair Cafe team return to Ventnor Exchange.
After the series of heatwaves, some things have struggled in the heat and may need care and attention.
A team of volunteer repairers will be on hand at Ventnor Exchange to fix people’s gear or offer advice on getting items working again.
Getting involved
The Repair Cafe continues to encourage Islanders to fix rather than replace their belongings.
Book your slot in advance (from 10.30am) to guarantee it can be looked at.
Growing repair movement
The organisers describe the initiative as part of a “repair revolution” and welcome anyone who shares their enthusiasm for fixing rather than discarding items.
They encourage people to spread word of the event and follow the Repair Cafe’s social media presence on Facebook, Mastodon and Bluesky for updates.
People can book slots through the Repair Cafe’s online booking system.
