From today (Monday, 4th November) to Monday, 16th December, Wightlink will carry out significant works to the entrance of its Portsmouth Gunwharf car ferry port.
The entrance will be closed during this period to replace the road surface. This will mean adjustments for drivers entering the port and for those who park there regularly.
Advance booking required for all sailings
Wightlink advises all customers to book their sailings in advance. The usual entrance will not be accessible during the works.
Instead, drivers will need to check in at the Gunwharf Road car park (see below).
Staff will guide you through the revised process to ensure smooth operations.
Temporary route through the port exit
After checking in, vehicles may need to wait in the car park before being directed to proceed. Wightlink requests drivers to turn off their engines while waiting.
When it’s time to board, a member of the team will direct you to access the port via its exit rather than the usual entrance.
These temporary changes are part of essential maintenance to improve the facilities for all users. Wightlink appreciates passengers’ patience and cooperation during this time.
