Despite the bank holidays and delays to positive tests being recorded, there has been a rise in the number of Islanders testing positive for Covid-19 in the last week.
The rolling seven day number (between 27th December and 2nd January) of positive Covid tests on the Isle of Wight is 1,272 – a rate per 100,000 population of 902.13.
The cumulative total since the pandemic began now stands at 22,644 – a rate per 100,000 population of 16,059.57.
Hospital numbers remain low
The number of those being treated for Covid-19 at St Mary’s hospital remains low, with 24 patients as at 29th December 2021.
Three of those patients are relying on mechanical ventilation.
New deaths
Sadly there have been more deaths recorded that are connected to Covid-19.
The cumulative number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate on the Isle of Wight increased by four since last week’s weekly report, taking it to 356.
There were two new deaths within 28 days of a positive test, bringing the cumulative total to 322.
