At the time of reporting the weekly Isle of Wight Covid-19 rates on Tuesday this week, the rolling weekly number of positive Coronavirus tests was 21.
That was the highest weekly rates since 9th April. However, just three days later, that figure is now 35: The is the highest weekly rate since 26th February.
The cumulative total on the Island since the pandemic began is now at 6,956 – a rate per 100,000 population of 4,933.33.
Maintain social distance
Those who have been vaccinated (whether single or double doses) are reminded that they can still pass on the virus to others.
This is important to remember for the benefit of vulnerable people, such as those with chronic or auto-immune conditions, that are not obvious on the outside.
