Dramatic scenes off the coast of Ventnor just now, where an RNLI Coastguard rescue helicopter, which had traveled from Lea on Solent, was spotted hovering over a yacht.
From the shore it looked like someone The winchman — who are usually trained paramedics — was lowered from the helicopter to, we assume, attend to someone on board, while the others on the yacht looked on.
The helicopter then flew away, circling the area later to return to stretcher-off the person needing medical attention and the winchman.
They were flown directly to Southampton neurological unit to treat what we understand was a head trauma.
RNLI Bembridge lifeboat was launched to attend as well.
Best wishes to those involved with the incident.
