Further to the previous updates from this week, Southern Water have worked hard to repair the burst sewer in New Barn Road, East Cowes.
The repair has been completed safely and by the end of Friday (23rd August), traffic management will be removed and all roads which were closed during the work will be reopened.
A spokesperson from Southern Water said,
“The tankering operation which took place overnight ensured our network operated as intended and there was no release of untreated wastewater into the environment. The tankers will leave the Island over the next 24 hours.
“We are sorry for the disruption this essential caused and are incredibly grateful for the patience and understanding of homes and businesses in the area.”
