This horrid substance is very widely available on the Island and regrettably, it is very young children who are smoking much of it, often aged 13-14. Until the suppliers of this misery to children get more serious punishment, this sorry state of affairs will continue blighting lives.

It would be helpful if you explained why you are ticking minus beside my comment? Do you not believe we have a drug problem on the Island, of most concern regarding teenagers? Adults can largely make up their own minds if they want to be regular cannabis users, despite the overwhelming evidence it leads to psychosis in a small percentage of people. There is a a problem with cannabis not just on the Island but all over the World and until it is either eliminated or legalised it will remain so. The problem is the culture surrounding the stuff. We have it glorified on TV and the Movies and as it doesn’t ‘normally’ do more than give a mild ‘high’ what can possibly stop people from taking it? The… Read more »

Interesting posts, but with respect you ignore the reality.

Heavy use by youngsters can lead to mental health problems. It is widely reported that easier supply, particualrly of skunk, has caused a doubling of teenagers developing psychosis.

The real problem with the drug is that for the vast majority of users, it appears relatively harmless. For a signifigant minority, it has very serious consequences.
