When the Olympic Torch Relay left the Isle of Wight two weeks ago, we were lucky enough to travel with it on Red Funnel’s Red Eagle ferry.
It provided the opportunity to chat to members of the Olympic Torch Relay team and the chance to meet Roderick Drew.
You’re probably wondering “Who’s Roderick Drew?”. Well Roderick, who lives in Dorset, has been following the Olympic Torch Relay on his bicycle.
Roderick had two hip operations back in 2002 and just ten years later took on the challenge to cycle 4,000 miles with the Olympic Torch.

Our two youth reporters, Alpha and Sasha took the opportunity to ask Roderick a few questions about his motivation, fundraising, wrong turns and punctures amongst other things!
