The councillor for East Cowes Town Council North Ward, Karl Love, is holding a public meeting this coming Friday (9th December).
He’s inviting residents and businesses to take part in an open discussion about a project to petition for a Royal East Cowes title.
Karl believes the town’s rich cultural history makes the town very special and worthy of a Royal title.
Support from Isle of Wight Society
He says,
“I raised the idea of petitioning at the AGM of the Isle of Wight Society meeting. It was thought to be a good idea and I welcome their support.
“Our town truly has a rich history and its time to shout it from the roof tops. As part of my thinking I’d like to see a monument, to the townspeople and their historic achievements encompassing our most famous resident HM Queen Victoria and HRH Prince Albert un-veiled in 2019.
“This could be a very exciting town people project if everyone pulls together in its concept.”
Where and when
The debate on Royal East Cowes takes place at the East Cowes Methodist Church on Friday
9th December between 6.45pm-7.45pm.
All are welcome.
Very special heritage
