When we asked VB readers last year their favourite place for Afternoon Tea, The Royal Hotel in Ventnor came back as a resounding favourite.
We’ve been fortunate enough to ‘take tea’ there ourselves (Thanks Keri & Julian!) and it was a fantastic experience.
Stepping up a gear
As good as it was, we’ve now heard that Afternoon Tea has stepped up a gear at The Royal Hotel with some exciting changes coming from 1st December.
Alongside that, The Royal now offer gift vouchers for Afternoon Tea, Lunch or Dinner, quite a treat for someone special to you for a Christmas or Birthday present.
Award-winning head pastry chef
The Royal’s new head pastry chef, Emily Harris, is currently designing and perfecting her festive Afternoon Tea.
Emily knows a thing or two about afternoon teas – hers are award-winning you see – something she gained while working as a pastry chef with Heston Blumenthal at his Dinner restaurant at the Mandarin Oriental, Hyde Park.
Imagine the delight your dear old Mum (or Gran, wife, girlfriend, aunt or niece) will have telling her friends that she had Afternoon Tea at The Royal, made by an award-winning pastry chef!
We hear that Emily has great plans for The Royal’s Afternoon Tea, the new menu – and it won’t be static, it will change according to the seasons and will include savoury and gluten-free choices.
Afternoon Tea is priced at £18 per person and served with a selection of refreshing Jing Teas.
