Ryde Beach Lifeguard looking out to sea

Ryde beach manager offers crucial safety advice for half-term visitors

Summer is almost upon us and the the dedicated lifeguards of Ryde Beach are readying themselves for duty.

Starting Monday 29th May, and extending until Sunday 4th June, their vigilant watch will run daily from 11am to 6pm.

Their operational hub, the lifeguard station, is conveniently situated opposite the canoe lake, a well-known locale in Ryde.

Swim between the red and yellow flags
The Beach Manager, Todd Miller, expressed his earnest wish for everyone to relish their beach visits this half term.

He cordially encourages visitors to safely swim between the designated red and yellow flags, and to heed the lifeguard advice diligently.

First aid
Further, he urges anyone who needs advice, first aid, or help in locating a lost person to approach them without hesitation.

Their mission is to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors.

No inflatables near Ryde Harbour
A crucial cautionary note was also shared by Todd. Visitors are strongly advised against swimming or using inflatables near Ryde Harbour due to the strong currents that can arise at certain high tide periods.

This potentially dangerous section of the beach will be clearly marked by a red flag, a measure implemented once again this year as part of their proactive safety measures.

Have a safe summer
Summer at Ryde Beach promises to be a time of fun, enjoyment and safety, with the diligent lifeguards ever-ready to offer assistance and advice to all visitors.
