Shoppers in Ryde this weekend will be notice a distinctively Victorian stylee going on in the lower part of town as a small group of retailers have pulled together to put on a Victorian Weekend.
We hear on the grapevine that staff in many of the shops will be donning Victorian Costumes and providing mince pies and mulled wine to customers.
But that’s not all, if you like a bit of magic in your life, then head over to The Black Sheep and the Victorian Arcade, where a magician will be performing.
If you decide to lunch at Micelangelo’s he’ll also be performing table top magic there too (busy man).
As you wander through the streets you’ll be met by street performers and carol singers all adding to the Christmas atmosphere.
Organisers tell us that they are hoping to raise some cash for the Naomi House Children’s Hostel and are selling raffle tickets at Bear Necessities, Gibbs and Gurnell and Splash.
The prizes have been supplied by local shops and a list is available at the above outlets.
