Schools Reorganisation: First Part Consultation Deadline Today

The deadline on some parts of the schools reorganisation consultation ends at 6pm today (7th August).

Schools Reorganisation: First Part Consultation Deadline TodayIt is your chance to have your say on the proposed bidders for the five secondary schools and two amalgamated primary schools.

Thousands of people across the Island came out in protest against the proposed changes last year, but the IW Council continued with their plans, even though they have admitted there is no proof that a change to a two tier system will improve results.

Presentations by Bidders
Concerned and interested parents attended the presentations from the various bidders back in July, but as Wendy Varley pointed out earlier in the week, there were still people she knew of who’d had no idea the consultation was taking place.

As those following the schools reorganisation will know, the plan is to change the three tier system to a two tier system. In 2010 primary schools which remain open will be extended by two school years and by 2011 all middle schools will be closed.

There have been a variety of options put forward by the bidders, details of which can be found on the Eduwight Website.

Some parts of the consultation end today and the remainder end on 21st August.
