Emergency services have gathered along the shoreline in Ryde in a search for a missing person.
The County Press say it’s feared that the person is a swimmer.
Police have been informed, but are yet to issue an appeal, however, HM Coastguard search and rescue helicopter is in operation, as well as teams from Bembridge, Ventnor, Needles, Hill Head and Portsmouth.
In addition, the Isle of Wight’s search and rescue team, WightSAR, is also taking part in the search.
