Shanklin Esplanade is currently closed after a road traffic incident took place this morning.
According to OnTheWight reader Richard Wilkins, a young person was involved in a collision with a van as it drove up the hill from the esplanade.
Police and a medical responder are on the scene and the air ambulance has just arrived.
Our thoughts are with the family of the young person involved. Fingers crossed it’s not too serious.

Richard tells us,
“They are preparing to air lift to hospital. The boy is talking and moving, seems comfortable, ie not crying. The urgency of paramedics seems calmer and everyone looks happier around him.
