Didn’t they do well?! The Island’s Shanklin Freak Show have just won the nation-wide Bizarre magazine / Kerrang! radio unsigned band competition!
They want to send a ‘Thank You!’ to the Island for supporting them, pushing them to a 552 vote lead over their nearest rival.
Their prizes – beside the sheer pride of it all – are extensive and listed below.
New Website and EP too
Alongside their good news, they’ve also launched their new EP, The Fall and a new look to their Web site – so, busy, busy, busy.
Here’s the message that they’ve sent to VentnorBlog to thank you, in their words.
The Shanklin Freak Show are very happy to announce that they have won the national Unsigned Band Review / Bizarre Magazine / Kerrang! Radio competition!
Out of the hundreds of bands that entered, 10 finalists were announced followed by a heated public vote.
After a month of intense voting the weirdos from the Isle Of Wight came totally out of left-field and took the win by a substantial margin!
As winners, The Shanklin Freak Show will receive:
- A full-page interview in Bizarre Magazine.
- Have their song played on Kerrang! Radio.
- Open this years Bizarre Summer Ball at London’s ‘Scala’ venue.
- Have their song filmed and recorded live at the Bizarre Ball.
- And also receive music industry mentoring from Unsigned Band Review …whatever that means
The Shanklin Freak Show would like to thank everyone who took the time to vote for them to win! Another victory for the (still vibrant) Island music scene!
