I managed to squeeze in a brief visit last week to the Quay Arts Centre before the final Shopping Trolley pieces were taken down from the cafe wall.
The quality and variety of works displayed lived up to expectations … and made me even more gutted that we couldn’t get along on the night for the live event or manage to contribute any work of our own.
I didn’t take shots of everything, but I’ve stuck up a selection of my favourites.
Unfortunately, I forgot the camera and had to make do with the camera phone, so apologies for the poor quality (the lighting wasn’t great).
We popped back again on Saturday and bumped into Mike Forrest, whose fantastic peacock (above) stared back at us as we stopped for a cup of tea. It was great to hear that he’s hopefully going to be exhibiting again at the Quay later in the year.
We are huge fans of his work and wish him the all the best in the future.
If anyone has any other shots of the night, please stick them up on the VentnorBlog Flicker Group.
