Trees in the distance and frost on the ground by Annie Spratt

Showers to turn wintry overnight with a mixture of rain, sleet, snow and hail

The Isle of Wight Met Service are predicting that whilst most of us are tucked up in bed, temperatures will drop and overnight rain will turn to sleet and snow.

However, don’t get too excited thinking you might be able to build a snowman on Thursday morning, IW Met Service say no accumulations are expected and any lingering sleet or snow will clear at daybreak.

They do say however, that we can expect a scattering of wintry showers until the late afternoon, bringing with it a mixture or rain, sleet, snow and even hail.
