Good news for organisations involved with family learning from Helen at the Isle of Wight Rural Community Council. Ed
A new round of grant funding is available from Isle of Wight Council to organisations or enterprises who can deliver rewarding adult and family learning experiences. The total fund available is £30,000.
Funding is available for projects and ideas across the Island, with an emphasis on making sure that as many people as possible can benefit from the activities. Bids can be large or small.
The Council’s contracting process can be very daunting for voluntary organisations and small businesses, creating barriers to Island traders and community groups delivering services. The new and simplified ReSource approach to funding will be used where the voluntary sector and small businesses are both able to provide a service in return for a grant.
This new approach is based on the Prospectuses that have directed grant-funding into the voluntary sector during the last year. It extends a flexible approach and Local Compact standards to local businesses.
To make bidding easier, the Learning service are also holding an open session to enable bidders to discuss their ideas and find out more about what the Council is looking for.
Details are in the ReSource document, available online or calling the Adult, Community and Family Learning Service on 01983 817280.
