Around 300 delegates will be attending the launch of the Solent Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) in Southampton today.
As previously mentioned on VB, Solent LEP, which replaces SEEDA, will be aiming to facilitate the creation of 10,000 new jobs by 2026. It plans to create a new Government enterprise zone, apprenticeship schemes, and will today outline the vision for a new body at the City Cruise terminal.
Chairman of the LEP, ABP Southampton port director Doug Morrison told the Daily Echo, “It is a real landmark in the development of the LEP. The event will give us the opportunity to introduce ourselves to the Solent business community.
“Engagement with local business will be extremely important in helping us focus our efforts on the issues which are most important to the region.”
