Officers on the Isle of Wight investigating the death of Gary (Jeff) Stacey, who died the day after he was assaulted in Newport earlier this year, have today (June 1) charged a 21 year-old man with manslaughter.
The assault happened on St James’ Street at around 4am on Sunday, February 14.
The man from Alma Road in Southampton has been charged with one count of manslaughter and has been bailed to appear at Isle of Wight combined Court on Friday, July 1.
