The Isle of Wight management can announce one of the biggest signings of the current promotion with Team Boss Jackie Vatcher enthusing over 30 year old Yorkshireman Ben Wilson, agreeing to join the Warriors for the 2017 season.
Mrs Vatcher continued,
“I am sure the signing of Ben, who is a quality outright No.1 in the National League, will show not only our supporters and sponsors but the rest of the National League our intention of being one of the front runners for success in 2017. Ben has been a pleasure to deal with during the positive negotiations and is delighted to be coming to the Island as much as we are that he’s coming.
“We now await the NL AGM for the outcome of what the points limit will be for the new season next year, but to have Ben on board along with James Cockle and Chris Widman, our team building could not have gone better at this early stage of the close season.
“We would like to thank Damien Bates from Sheffield speedway for allowing us to speak to Ben.”
A delighted Ben said,
“I cannot wait to get onto the Smallbrook track to represent the Warriors in 2017. I love big tracks and Smallbrook is the biggest in the country so it will suit me fine. I have seen a lot about the atmosphere on the Island and I cannot wait to be part of this.
“Also, I know James and Chris well and they are a great foundation to team build. I am really excited about this new chapter in my career and I cannot wait to meet with the fans.”
