This just in from the council in reply to our query, following a comment by Chris Welsford on the story covering the letter from the IW Council to the Government.
Director of Children’s Services Steve Beynon said “We have stated from the moment we began the consultation that all views received by the public will be taken into account ahead of a final decision in March. The consultation is informal because we are seeking views on all of the options ahead of the formal consultation for each school which will begin in the summer, after the option is chosen. This is because, as outlined in the booklet, the school locations list is subject to change depending on representations received during the informal consultation period. We greatly value the thoughts of the Island’s public and I would ask anyone who is yet to fill out the questionnaire to do so”.
