Stitch Department has announced an exciting event to look forward to this September.
The team is absolutely thrilled to be hosting a heritage fashion show as a celebration of the many fashion shows that have taken place at Packs over the years.
It’s a fitting send-off for a location that has been a cornerstone of Island fashion, as the Packs building is set to close for renovation soon.
A new beginning
From September, the Packs building will close as it goes under renovation for a year. The objective is to transform the building into an exciting community arts centre.
However, before the scaffolding goes up and the transformation begins, Stitch Department wants to organise a final fashion show filled with creatives and businesses from the Island.
Local talent on the catwalk
The catwalk will consist of local Island businesses, artists and creatives.
In an exciting twist, there is an opportunity for five artists or designers to receive a £200 commission to create an outfit to go down the catwalk.
Applications for this special opportunity close on 25th August, and aspiring designers can apply by filling in this form.
Island fashion businesses keen to get involved are encouraged to contact Amber at [email protected].
Browse and mingle
Not only will attendees be treated to a unique fashion showcase, but they will also have an area where they can browse everything they’ve seen on the catwalk.
Other stalls from Island fashion and textile businesses will be present as well.
And for those who fancy a drink, the bar will be open, with a welcome drink included in the ticket price.
Get your tickets
The Heritage Fashion Show takes place on Friday 22nd September at Department, Cross Street. Ryde from 7pm.
Tickets are available at £12 each.
You can purchase your tickets on EventBrite or by visiting Department’s Website.
Unique opportunity
Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to say goodbye to an iconic venue and celebrate the rich fashion heritage of the Island.
It’s an event that promises to be as creative, vibrant and community-spirited as the Island itself.
