On 23 June Ryde Academy played host to George Dillon and his rendition of Berkoff’s Graft – Tales of an Actor offering students from years 9-13 an exciting opportunity to see fringe theatre at its best.

George, an acclaimed actor and colleague of Steven Berkoff, performed this one man show with boundless energy and absolute accuracy. He was assisted by our very own student technicians who were pushed to work at a professional standard… and nailed it!
The following morning George returned to the Academy to hold a workshop.

Our students threw themselves into a gruelling, physical three hours which focused on non concept theatre practice, Berkoff’s style and even a little martial arts. They all thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.
