We learned last weekend about a very hilly 67 mile sponsored cycle ride that it planned for May by the son of a friend of ours who lives on the Island.
On Saturday 16th May, Sam Jarman will be joining a number of others (19 people to be precise) to cycle 67 miles through the Cotswolds to raise funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital and the Toy Trust.
Sam has a target of raising £500 and is already nearly 25% there, so hopefully those of you able to spare a few pounds for these great causes will help Sam achieve his goal.
Here’s what Sam has to say about the charities he hopes to raise much needed cash for.
Great Ormond Street Hospital is a world-class children’s hospital, with the broadest range of paediatric services under one roof anywhere in the UK. Each year over 150,000 patients visit the hospital with the most complex, life-threatening or life-limiting conditions.
GOSH is committed to finding treatments and cures for some of the rarest and most difficult illnesses.
Since its foundation in 1990, The Toy Trust has made a real difference by raising over £2m for children and families in the UK and right across the world. 100% of the funds raised for the Toy Trust reach the people who need it – every penny goes to Children’s charities, as all administration costs are covered by the British Toy Association or supported by volunteer activity.
I hope you are keen to support my efforts in this event, and also that you support the reason why I’m doing it. If so, please make a donation.
Visit Sam’s sponsorship page if you’re able to help out.
