Open Studio visitors to the Jubilee Stores in Newport this weekend will have a rare opportunity to see Martin Swan painting. He’s currently working on oil paintings which will be shown in the Annual exhibition of the Royal Society of Marine Artists, of which he is a member. The exhibition opens in October in the Mall Galleries in London.
Martin will be working in the Jubilee Stores on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th July between 10am and 5pm.
Meet other artists
Fellow artists Rebecca Robinson and Melanie Swan will be opening their studios in the Jubilee Stores from Friday 17th to Monday 20th July.
The artists’ work includes mixed media, contemporary textiles, prints and painting.
Quarr Abbey
Martin will be working again at Quarr Abbey in the newly refurbished Meeting Room during the following weekend Open Studios, Friday 24th to Monday 27th July. He will be joined by Sarah Talbot, Sally Woodford and Melanie Swan.
The artists will be working in specially created temporary studio spaces where visitors will be able to see the creative processes involved in creating paintings, mixed media and ceramic arts.
