You might remember back in March that those crazy folks at Bestival HQ came up with the bonkers idea to organise a charity Swim to Bestival.
Well, for those of you who thought it was a spoof, think again. Thanks to some info via Yasmin from Hularama, you can now logon to an official website to see the profiles of the nutters brave folks who will be taking up the gauntlet to swim across the Solent for charity.
There is a real mixture of people taking part. I particularly liked Sarah Bailey’s logic that because she is afraid of the sea, she’s hoping it’s going to help her swim faster. Or how about Danny Smallbone (pictured left)? As a boy he would look over the Solent at the IOW and boast to his friends “I could swim that”. Can’t wait to find out if he makes it.
If we’re free, we’ll be there to video the swimmers coming and and post it to the Blog. All good stuff and great to see people willing to give it a go. Only wish I was as brave.
