19th to 27th June is Team Green Britain Bike Week and a great opportunity for CycleWight, the Island’s cycle pressure group, to get our there to promote their initiative.
This Saturday, they’ll be hosting a stand in St James Square between 10am and 4pm.
You’ll be able to find out all manner of cycling info from maps, advice, information about local and national routes to details of programme for this September’s Cycle Festival.
Between 10am-12pm and 2pm-4pm, Dr Bike will be on hand to diagnose what needs to be done to get that bike back on the road.
Representatives from the Cycling Festival will be there to tell people about the wide range of events in this years cycling bonanza.
Tim Thorne, from CycleWight said, “You only have to look at the roads and cycle tracks on the Island to there is a huge number of people of cycling. Many more would love to join in and so the display on Saturday in conjunction with the Cycling Festival and Wight Mountain is part of this drive.
“Many people are concerned about the safety aspect of cycling but it is now generally recognised that the more people who cycle the safer it becomes”
