Readers may remember that last month we mentioned Isle of Wight teenage sailor, Nestor, would be attempting to sail around the Island solo in a Laser Dinghy to raise money for two vital charities.
Nestor recently took on the challenge and unfortunately hit quite a few problems along the way, such as racing tides, dead wind, needing to part-paddle and having to be towed some of the way.
Raised more than £2,000
However, his determination to complete the challenge drove him on and he did make it around the Island in 13 hours. You can follow his journey by watching the video below.
Not only that, but Nestor managed to raise £2,160 which was split equally between the RNLI and Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.
Infectious enthusiasm
Nestor’s enthusiasm for sailing is infectious and his ability to solve problems, rather than seeing obstacles in the way, is incredibly refreshing.
Most of all, it’s great to watch Nestor enjoying himself so much.
