The Island Collection is delighted to welcome Janet Owen and Rebecca Goozee to join the team. Until now the organisation has been entirely run by its volunteer trustees.
Janet and Rebecca will enable The Island Collection to not only support the sector, but work collaboratively with partner organisations to form a Cultural Strategy and action plan for the Isle of Wight.
The Island Collection – who we are
The Island Collection was set up in 2019 to provide a vehicle for more collaborative working within the arts, culture, and heritage sector on the Isle of Wight.
The charity also hosts the Cultural Education Partnership which links schools with hundreds of organisations with the ambition to ensure that all children and young people on the Isle of Wight have access to creative and cultural opportunities.

Harrison: It’s tremendous to have Janet and Rebecca on board
Announcing the two appointments, Chair of trustees, Simon Harrison
“These first-rate appointments will mean that The Island Collection will make a much bigger difference in bringing the benefits of arts, culture and heritage to everyone, and help make sure culture gains its rightful place at the centre of decisions affecting health and well-being. It’s tremendous to have Janet and Rebecca on board.
“We are all so grateful to Arts Council England, the Isle of Wight Council and Artswork for the confidence they have placed in us through their funding support, and look forward to delivering its benefits.”
