It’s not news to any of us that the Isle of Wight is bursting with talent.
We’ve all seen the music, sports, film-making and acting award ceremonies over the years celebrating the amazing wealth of talent the Island has to offer.
So we expect that ‘The Island’s Got Talent’ is likely to be a popular competition, especially with £1000 winning prize money on offer.
The competition is open to anyone 13 years old and over, no matter what your talent.
There’ll be several rounds to the comp, starting with a two day boot camp in May building up towards the Grand Final at The Medina Theatre in August.
This is no ordinary talent contest though. It’s being organised by John’s Club a charity that provides social, recreational and training activities for disabled people on the Island.
Organisers tell us that singer-songwriter, Helena Mace, has been confirmed as a Judge on the panel for the competition.
Helena says “I am honoured to be a part of Island’s got Talent. The Isle of Wight is my home and I am looking forward to seeing what talent the Island has to offer and helping someone get the opportunity to follow their dream.”
