Taking a look around Nodehill Middle School last night reminded us of a great conference coming up later this month, organised by Modern Foreign Languages Teacher, Joe Dale.
It was about this time last year that Joe held the world-class conference about the use of technology in education.
Last year’s conference was extremely successful and Joe has built on that for this year, which includes over 30 different presentations, workshops and hands-on training sessions.
Delivered by leading speakers from the UK and beyond. Many sessions are geared towards the new Key Stage 3 curriculum that came into effect for English schools at the start of this term, making the Isle of Wight Conference 2008 the ideal springboard.
We are particularly pleased to welcome Kathy Wicksteed, the Languages support advisor for the new curriculum.
Also new this year are the Round Table sessions to allow more time for discussion and networking with other delegates and speakers, something asked for by several of you last year.
We have included these in the session programme to allow you to plan your days, but you do not need to register for Round Table sessions.

By the way, we were highly impressed with what we saw at Nodehill last night. Mr Morris, the headteacher, should be very proud of his pupils who did an excellent job of taking prospective parents on tours around the school.
The facilities, particularly technology, are the best that we’ve seen so far on the Island and the buildings provide a wonderful environment for the young people to blossom in.
