Street Party at the People's Palace of Possibilities

The People’s Palace of Possibility: Join the three-week creative adventure in Ventnor

Friday night marked the beginning of a three-week adventure at Ingram’s Yard in Ventnor – the former builder’s yard turned creative community space being spearheaded by the team at Ventnor Exchange.

The People’s Palace of Possibility is an outdoor installation created by The Bare Project, which asks “how we find energy for change, despite our fear and anger about the future”.

It is rooted in utopias. The mystery of the utopias which have gone before, become misplaced, or gone wrong. And in the impulse for escape; for doing something radically different from life as we know it.

Curated by local artists
The three-week event has been co-curated by local artists Teresa Grimaldi and Tracy Mikich and they have lined up a great selection of events, many being ‘pay what you can’ rather than a fixed ticket price.

Ingram’s Yard will be playing host, from a workshop with environmental artist Julie Hutchison (Sat 4th 12-2pm), where you will embroider secret symbols into napkins that are designed to conjure well-being and enchant your table at each meal, to a songwriting workshop (Thu 9th 7-9pm) with Jess Ong, a singer, music practitioner and performer, where you’ll co-create a protest folk anthem and perform it at the Palace Party on Saturday, 18th May.

Lots to see and do
During the week there is a breakfast reading club in association with Ventnor Library, whilst next weekend there is live music from Paul Armfield, as well as a feast event each Friday evening, where you will explore the story behind the The People’s Palace of Possibility.

If politics is your bag, take part in an inspiring afternoon discussion with local political trailblazers, Julie Jones-Evans and Sarah Redrup, or find out more about AI with Alex Sabine, Lily McCraith and Soul Miles.

Tracy and Teresa have organised a range of events to spark wonder and feed curiosity.
