Isle of Wight punk duo, The Pill, have released their highly anticipated second single ahead of festival appearances and shows around the UK.
Scaffolding Man, described by the band as a love song with attitude, is based on a true story about accidentally not shutting curtains whilst having a bath.
Recorded at Empire Studios
Recorded at Newport’s Empire Studios and released under the record label, AWAL, the track was produced by Boeweaver (aka Jim and Rob Homes) and features Lottie Massey on bass and vocals, with Lily Hutchings on guitar and backing vocals.
Joining the pair is Rufus Reader, who played drums on the song.

Kennedy: Fantastic
Serving up raw, unfiltered chaos since 2019, The Pill’s second single follows the release of Bale of Hay in April.
Described by Radio X’s John Kennedy as ‘fantastic,’ Bale of Hay was also praised by BBC 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq.
Throughout 2024, the band have performed around Europe, notably taking to the stage at festivals in Norway and Sweden.
In June, they performed a homecoming show at the Isle of Wight Festival, drawing crowds to the River Stage.
UK support tour
In the coming months, The Pill will tour around the UK including a gig at the Moth Club in London, supporting Shelf Lives.
They’ll also perform at festivals in Glasgow, Cardiff, Bristol, Brighton.
Additionally, the band will head to Live at Leeds Festival, on a bill with 2024 Mercury Prize winners, English Teacher.

Speaking about their new single and upcoming tour, The Pill said:
“We’ve been really lucky to play in Europe over the summer, and have definitely had to pinch ourselves with how things are going!
“October is going to be a busy month for us and we’re super excited to be playing around the UK.
“We really hope you like our second single, Scaffolding Man, and would just like to say how thankful we are for all the support.
“Working with Rob and Jim is always so much fun, and we definitely couldn’t be releasing the music that we are without them!”
