HillsideReports of thefts in Ventnor on the Isle of Wight are prompting a police appeal for information.

Several flagstones and a bench from the front of the ‘Hillside‘ hotel in Mitchell Avenue sometime between 11.15pm on Saturday, April 21 and 6am on Monday, April 23, 2012.

It’s believed whoever was responsible would have used a vehicle to move the items because of their weight.

Secure valuable furniture and ornaments
PC Sue Gill from the South Wight Safer Neighbourhoods team said: “Attractive old stone, metal, garden furniture and ornaments can make tempting and lucrative targets for thieves.

“I would like to take this opportunity to remind residents to keep outdoor items as secure as possible, and to photograph and security mark them if they can.”
