Thomas Luke’s concert celebrates musical legacy and supports St Peter’s Church repairs

Thomas Luke, hailed as a trailblazer by Steinway and Sons, has performed in concert halls across the globe as far afield as Xiamen (China), Leipzig (Germany) and Fort Worth (Texas, USA).

Thomas started his musical journey at the age of four and was warmly encouraged by his Grandfather, the late Colin Leal, a well known former resident of Havenstreet.

Thomas came to national attention after winning the Keyboard Category of BBC Young Musician in 2020, and since then, he has enjoyed a successful career as a concert performer.

Debut album
In 2024 he launched Many Pianos – a series of layered arrangements for four or more pianos – and this year he released his debut album titled See Me Now, reviewed by international online music magazine Interlude as ‘an impressive debut that leaves one wanting to hear more from this confident and imaginative musician’.

In dedication to his Grandfather, the concert will include performances of tracks from Thomas’ album, See Me Now, as well as other piano repertoire, with all proceeds donated to the repairs of St Peter’s Church.

Luke: Excited to help raise funds for St Peter’s Church
Thomas says,

“My Granddad was an enthusiastic musician who encouraged me throughout my early years to pursue my dreams of becoming an accomplished performer.

“During his life, he was a well known figure around the village, where my Grandma still lives.

“My family’s long association with Havenstreet village means I am very fond of the community and am excited to help raise funds for St Peter’s Church.”
